The new IKEA commercial is super trippy and showcases a colorful 2013 catalogue

In case you forgot what 1989-1999 looked like, the new IKEA commercial is sure to make you nostalgic for the 90s (or have an acid trip flashback, whatever comes first). Creative agency Mother London in the UK thought up the commercial, and I personally think it’s great. The ad starts with a woman doing yoga (or some sort of workout activity) in her white apartment as she comes across the 2013 catalogue, and somehow she magically enters this IKEA cartoon world of color, giant talking lips, and a rainbow slide that incept from her stove, taking her to an alternate IKEA universe. Then, things come in full circle, and her white apartment is magically filled with crazy colorful IKEA merchandise (they sell colorful lanterns and hundreds of other items now, FYI.)

I guarantee whether you actually like the ad or not, 99 Trees’ cover of “Bright Shiny Colors,” will be stuck in your head all day. Sha la la la, la la la…
