Pizza lovers rejoice: PDA offering intimate pizza making class at The Hugh in Midtown

Hey pizza lovers: are you looking for a fun and unique experience in the Big Apple? Look no further than a pizza making class at PDA aka Public Display of Affection by Chef and Owner Robert Guimond (alum of Jean Georges, Roberta’s, and Speedy Romeo’s) and his sister Emi Guimond in NYC. I recently had the opportunity to attend one of these classes and it was an absolute blast!

First things first, let me tell you about the location: the class I attended was held in a cozy, rustic pizza joint in the heart of the city at The Hugh, a popular Midtown foodcourt with a modern vibe. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, which set the tone for a fun and enjoyable experience. Wine was also provided to make things even more interesting (how can you eat pizza without a glass of your favorite vino?).

Now, onto the pizza making itself. The class was led by a talented and enthusiastic Chef Shah Miah, who by the way, might be the most qualified pizza chefs in NYC with 10 years experience at over 4 different pizzerias (and he may or may not be TikTok famous). His true passion for pizza made the class enjoyable as he guided us through the process of making our own personal pizzas, from kneading the dough to choosing our own toppings. Along the way, he shared tips and tricks for pizza perfection.

The best part was getting to put our pizzas into the wood-fired oven and watching them cook to perfection. The aroma of the pies baking was mouth-watering and made the anticipation even more worthwhile.

Once our pizzas were ready, we sat down to enjoy them together. It was so satisfying to bite into a pizza that we had made ourselves, and everyone’s creations were unique and delicious in their own way.

Overall, I would highly recommend a pizza making class in New York City at PDA to anyone who loves pizza and wants to learn more about the art of pizza making. It’s a fun and memorable experience that you won’t forget anytime soon. So, grab a friend or two, roll up your sleeves, and get ready to create some amazing pies.
