Brad Pitt’s latest escapade is… in furniture design?

Brad Pitt launching his own furniture line is proof that once you’ve made it, you really can do whatever you want. Even if that “whatever” happens to be designing various sorts of chairs and tables. But for Pitt, apparently that’s his cup of tea.

My guess is that his line will probably be a lot classier than say, your average Seaman’s Furniture, and the clientele will probably be ballin’, but hey, he’s doin’ it. The furniture line will be called “Home by Pitt.”

Pitt has been, “doodling ideas for buildings and furniture since the early 1990s,” and I’m willing to bet he’s got some fancy design tactics up his sleeve. It is Brad Pitt we’re talking about, after all.

Pitt’s project in collaboration with Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, Pierre Chareau, and Paul Dupré-Lafon, and has been in the works for years. He will make his debut of 12 or so pieces including a ” lustrous tropical-hardwood frame” bed, a dining table, a cocktail table, several side tables, a few club chairs, and a bathtub for two in Statuario Venato marble, that will be on display November 13-15 in New York.

Historically Pitt’s affiliation with architecture lies in his Make it Right foundation, that enlists architects to construct affordable housing for post natural disaster victims such as those affected by Katrina.
