Cheryl Strayed’s epic adventure life doc Wild gets an official trailer

“How wild it was, to let it be.”

Cheryl Strayed is never not producing amazing works, so it’s no wonder filmmakers are eager to get their hands on the author’s fabulous stories, especially in the latest adaptation of her memoir Wild: Lost And Found On the Pacific Crest Trail. Reese Witherspoon stars as Strayed, who takes a very long spiritual journey after her life seemingly falls apart, resulting in some risky behavior while hiking over one thousand miles solo in Oregon.

Impulsively deciding to go along with the ride of her newly found determination accompanied only by the simplistic natural beauty of sunsets, sunrises, trees, the mountainous landscapes, Strayed finds herself and heals years spent in emotional turmoil.

The best thing about Wild, too, is Jean-Marc Vallée will be directing, who just so happens to be the genius behind my favorite 2013 film Dallas Buyers Club. So it is likely the December 5th release will leave fans of the book satisfied, and those who have not read the original memoir moved in some way.

Not only is  Strayed’s Wild being adapted for the screen, but the producers behind HBO’s Getting On will also be taking Strayed’s hilariously witty advice column Dear Sugar that first appeared on The Rumpus and making it into a short animated film voiced by none other than Alex Borstein.

Look out for Strayed’s voice adapted on the screen and follow her on Twitter for more official updates about her writing and upcoming films.
